Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the LB4803 kit combine a 480 CFM airflow floor with its included 2.5 Ah pack?
The LB4803 package page lists a 2.5 Ah battery and standard charger, while its manual lists a 480 CFM boost maximum. This confirms the equipment and published ceiling, not a measured yard result.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the LB4803 meet a strict 4.8 lb bare-tool maximum?
No. The LB4800 manual lists 5.16 lb with tube and without battery. The limit excludes the LB4803 before the 2.5 Ah pack is added.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the 480 model pass an 18 N force floor?
The LB4800 manual does not provide a newton force value, so that essential requirement is unknown for this kit. The LB5804 is a current EGO alternative with 18 N manual-listed maximum force.

The LB4803 packages EGO’s 480 CFM handheld body with a 2.5 Ah battery and standard charger. Its related LB4800 configuration is tool only, while the product page also lists a discontinued LB4801 package with a 2.0 Ah battery. Do not confuse those suffixes: the review here is specifically about the LB4803 kit with the 2.5 Ah pack.
The LB4800 manual describes three operating levels: 250 CFM low, 385 CFM high and 480 CFM boost, with listed speeds of 45, 72 and 92 mph respectively. A trigger and air-velocity adjustment knob control the output, and a boost button raises it to the manual’s maximum. The manual packing list includes the blower and blower tube, not a separately shaped tapered, flat or spread nozzle. If you expect a particular nozzle shape, that is a package limitation rather than an assumption to fill from an accessory listing.
A modest kit with a heavier body
The LB4800-family manual lists 5.16 lb with the tube and without the battery. That is heavier body-only weight than the higher-airflow LB6151, LB6504, LB6703, LB7654 and LB8803-2 in this reviewed group, and also above the LB5804 and LB5302. The manual figure excludes the 2.5 Ah battery and any added attachment. This makes the LB4803 an unusual tradeoff: it has the lowest published maximum CFM here, but not the lightest bare body. A strict carrying limit should not be evaluated from a product title or from a tool-only figure that omits the battery.
The manual gives approximate runtime of 75 minutes low, 23 minutes high and 12 minutes boost with a 2.5 Ah battery. These are manufacturer estimates for separate output modes. They do not guarantee a particular cleanup duration, and repeated boost use is not represented by the low-speed estimate. Battery age, temperature, load and technique also affect actual work time.
What the specification cannot confirm
The LB4800 manual does not provide maximum blowing force in newtons. If a minimum force is a true requirement, the LB4803 cannot pass that essential condition on the evidence available, even though it can be compared by CFM and air speed. Likewise, the 480 CFM maximum does not predict yard-wide clearing time. Dry leaves on an open path, wet debris in a corner and small material near gravel create different handling demands. Lower output can help reduce scattering, but it does not make the machine a vacuum or collect material into a bag.
For a somewhat higher published airflow with the same 2.5 Ah kit battery class, the LB5302 reaches 530 CFM and includes a speed-adjustment knob and boost. The LB6151 adds a tapered nozzle and 615 CFM. If a flat nozzle and 5.0 Ah battery matter, the LB5804 is a more differentiated package, although its body is listed at 4.77 lb before the pack. These comparisons may be more useful than selecting the 4803 solely because its number seems easier to control.
Setup and storage
EGO says to use the blower tube and remove the battery before changing accessories, servicing, cleaning or clearing an obstruction. Wear eye protection with side shields and use hearing protection during extended operation. Keep people and pets out of the operating area and at least 50 feet away, maintain firm footing, and do not use the blower from a ladder. Never point the tube at people or animals, and do not use the blower near fires or hot ashes or to spread chemicals.
The exact LB4800 product page does not establish a weather-resistance rating in the material checked, so this review does not assign one. Keep the pack and charger within their instructions, store the blower indoors in a dry, secure place, and inspect the tool before use. A 2.5 Ah kit is convenient for a short routine, but a second pack may matter if a larger area or repeated high-speed work is planned.
The LB4803 is best considered when its 480 CFM maximum, 2.5 Ah kit and manual controls meet a clearly modest task. The 5.16 lb bare-tool weight, lack of a listed shaped nozzle and unknown manual force specification are meaningful limits. Compare the exact alternative packages before buying, especially when you need a documented accessory or a quantified force threshold.
