Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Do I need the flat nozzle supplied with the 650 kit?
The current product page and the LB6500 manual support the flat and tapered nozzle setup; this is different from the spread nozzle supplied with some other EGO kits.
Explore this need in the finder →Could the 650 kit meet a 21 N manual force floor while keeping body weight at or below 4.8 lb?
The manual lists 21 N maximum force and 4.77 lb before battery. The weight choice excludes added battery mass.
Explore this need in the finder →Do I want a 650 CFM minimum but not require a spread nozzle?
LB6504 clears the published volume threshold and includes tapered and flat nozzles. A spread nozzle is not on its manual packing list.
Explore this need in the finder →The LB6504 is a bigger-battery kit, not just a CFM step
The EGO LB6504 package combines the 650 CFM handheld blower with a 5.0 Ah battery and a standard charger. Its included nozzle set is tapered and flat. The related LB6500 is the body-only package, while the LB6503 pairs the same blower family with a 4.0 Ah battery and charger. Choose the suffix around what you already own: buying a complete LB6504 kit when you have a serviceable compatible pack may duplicate equipment, while buying the bare body without an EGO battery leaves a necessary power source to arrange separately.
The exact product page describes the variable-speed trigger and lock-on dial, plus a boost button for maximum output. The linked LB6500 manual lists 650 CFM, 180 mph with the tapered nozzle, 21 N maximum blowing force and a 4.77 lb body weight without battery. EGO’s product page describes airflow control as variable, but its page has conflicting endpoints in different sections: one callout says 225–500 CFM and the detailed specification says 225–470 CFM. This review does not treat either endpoint as a firm cutoff. The useful confirmed distinction is the adjustable trigger and dial, with boost for maximum air volume.
Why the flat nozzle matters
Some EGO kits supply a spread nozzle, but LB6504’s listed package instead includes a flat and tapered nozzle. The tapered nozzle concentrates the stream and raises air speed; the flat nozzle changes the shape of the outlet for a flatter, more directed sweep. Neither should be confused with the separate spread nozzle. If you specifically require a spread nozzle in the box, the current LB6703, LB7654 and LB8803-2 kits are better starting points. If you need a flat nozzle without a separate accessory purchase, the LB6504 is the distinct package in this family.
The additional battery capacity compared with the LB6151’s 2.5 Ah kit can be attractive when you want more nominal capacity included, but amp-hours alone do not predict clearing time. The manual gives approximate low, high and boost runtimes with a 5.0 Ah battery; actual use changes with speed, battery condition, debris and technique. Do not compare a maximum low-speed claim to a real mixed-setting session. The battery is compatible with the EGO 56V platform, but compatibility does not mean every tool purchase comes with a charger or that every kit includes the same pack.
Handling, care and limits
The 4.77 lb specification is for the blower without its battery. It is close to the LB6151’s 4.74 lb bare body and the LB6703’s 4.8 lb figure; these numbers do not establish an assembled carry-weight winner. The manual and product page specify IPX4 protection from splashing water. That is not a waterproof rating. The operator instructions call for eye protection, keeping bystanders at least 50 feet away, and removing the battery before adjustments, nozzle changes, clearing a clog, cleaning or storage. The manual also warns against use near fires or hot ashes and against blowing chemicals or toxic material.
This is a single-handled blower, not a backpack machine. A shoulder strap is available for compatible 6500-series tools but is not part of the LB6504 listed package. If extended carrying is a key need, compare the LB7654 or LB8803-2, whose linked manual/package material lists a strap, while remembering that a strap does not turn a handheld tool into a backpack harness. The 650 CFM rating and 21 N maximum force place it above the LB5804 and LB6151 in published output, while staying below the LB6703, LB7654 and LB8803-2. Buyers should compare the exact package needs rather than assume that moving to the next CFM number guarantees a different yard result.
Which EGO kit to compare next
Choose the LB6151 if tapered-only equipment and the 2.5 Ah kit suit you. Choose the LB6504 for the 5.0 Ah battery and flat nozzle. The LB6703 is a useful comparison when a spread nozzle and faster-listed 320 W charger matter more than the LB6504’s larger battery pack. The LB7654 adds a strap and higher published force, while the LB8803-2 is the only reviewed configuration with a display and two included batteries. This comparison is about specifications and supplied equipment; none of these figures is a controlled measurement of leaves cleared, noise at an operator’s ear or time on a particular property.
Finally, separate the battery and runtime claims from the warranty. EGO states a 5-year limited tool and 3-year limited battery warranty for eligible residential purchases through authorized retailers, with different periods for commercial use, refurbished products and accessories. Check the terms for the exact seller and use. When shopping, compare the exact LB6504 kit and its contents rather than relying on a listing that omits a suffix or merges the LB6500 and LB6503 packages.
