Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does this 230iB package include a 4 Ah battery and charger?
Yes. SKU 970 48 02-04 is listed with one 40-B140 4 Ah battery and a 40-C80 80 W charger; it is a different package from the 970 48 02-02 tool-only listing.
Explore this need in the finder →Will this included-battery kit meet a 650 CFM minimum while staying handheld?
The manufacturer publishes 650 CFM at the pipe and specifies a handheld blower. Husqvarna separately lists 532 CFM in the housing; this is not an independent test or guarantee of clearing speed.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the kit's exact weight with battery and nozzle have a documented maximum?
No. The manual lists 5.5 lb for the blower without battery; the product-page weight labels conflict, and the full assembled operating weight is not established.
Explore this need in the finder →The 230iB package with one battery and a 40-C80 charger
This exact US 230iB SKU, 970 48 02-04, turns the blower-only configuration into a more complete battery package: Husqvarna lists one 40-B140 battery rated at 4 Ah and one 40-C80 charger. The kit still uses the handheld 230iB blower with its round nozzle and included debris scraper. It does not add a flat nozzle, vacuum assembly, collection bag or string trimmer. The matching tool-only listing, SKU 970 48 02-02, leaves the battery and charger out entirely.
At the blower level, the package is the same 230iB family as the tool-only model. The operator manual lists 650 CFM maximum volume with tube/nozzle, 136 mph maximum air speed and 19.6 N maximum blowing force. Husqvarna's US support page distinguishes 532 CFM in the housing from 650 CFM at the pipe. The product page separately lists 139.81 mph, while the manual gives 136 mph. These remain manufacturer specifications with differing contexts; they are not a field test or a promise about clearing time on wet leaves or a cluttered bed.
What the included battery and charger change
The kit's clear advantage is not a different airflow rating but less package hunting. A single 4 Ah, 144 Wh 40-B140 battery and its 40-C80 charger are in the listed configuration, so a first-time battery buyer has the basic pieces to get started after charging. The 40-C80 is rated at 80 W. Husqvarna's manual also lists a 250 W QC250 charger as compatible with the 230iB family; the included 40-C80 charger is therefore a lower-output option. Do not assume the two chargers have identical recharge times, and follow the battery manual's charging instructions rather than estimating a work schedule from Ah alone.
The product page uses a 40V class label, while the manual describes the BLi battery system as 36V nominal. Both labels appear in manufacturer material. The exact kit lists the 40-B140, and the manual identifies other compatible BLi packs; if you already own a battery, use that exact compatibility table rather than inferring fit from color or a broad product-family label. Buying the kit despite owning compatible equipment may duplicate a battery and charger. In that case the tool-only SKU is the closer package comparison, provided the safety and compatibility questions are resolved.
Weight and handling need a careful read
Husqvarna's current US page has a confusing weight table: it lists 5.5 lb for the tool and 5.8 lb for weight excluding battery. The 2025 manual gives 5.5 lb for the blower without its battery. That is the clearer basis for the body-only comparison, but it does not document the assembled kit's exact operating weight. The manual lists the 40-B140 battery separately at 2.6 lb, yet adding table entries would not resolve the conflicting product-page labels or confirm every attached component's contribution. We therefore leave complete carry weight unknown instead of presenting a calculated figure as a manufacturer specification.
In routine use, the variable-speed trigger and cruise-control function allow a steady setting, with boost available for a short burst of maximum airflow. For a small hardscape area, start at a lower output and guide debris into a single pile; reserve boost for denser material rather than holding it continuously. The kit is handheld rather than backpack-carry, so the overall balance and duration of a session matter even when a battery is included. Husqvarna's manual instructs the operator to inspect the air intake and maintain at least 15 m from bystanders. Use eye and hearing protection, and charge/store the battery as its instructions require.
Choose it only for a blowing routine
This configuration moves leaves and light debris; the exact 230iB kit materials do not document vacuuming or mulching, nor a bag capacity. If collecting leaves is essential, compare a true blower-vacuum such as the EGO LV5000 or LV5005 rather than expecting a kit accessory to create that function. If a flat nozzle or confirmed total operating weight is essential, this package's documentation does not establish either. Its included 4 Ah battery may be a useful starting capacity, but it is not a runtime guarantee. Runtime depends on output setting, material and handling, and no personal work-time test is claimed here.
Husqvarna lists the exact product online, but its exact-model safety status has not been resolved. This assessment is kept for model identification and package comparison, not as a buying recommendation. Check current authoritative safety notices for the exact SKU before purchase. For the direct difference from the package without power equipment, see the 230iB tool-only assessment and the 230iB package comparison.
