Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does the 530iB manual document a 590 CFM Boost ceiling?
Yes. The May 2025 manual lists 590 CFM in Boost and 537 CFM in normal mode, with the round standard nozzle. The finder answer tests the published airflow floor; the review keeps nozzle basis and operating mode visible.
Explore this need in the finder →Is at least 18 N of manual-listed maximum blowing force available?
Yes. The 530iB manual lists 18 N maximum force in Boost and 15 N in normal mode; these are specification values, not measured debris-clearing force in a yard.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the body alone fit a 6 lb maximum before its battery is added?
Yes on the listed body-only values: the product page gives 5.95 lb and the manual's 2.7 kg converts to about 6.0 lb. Neither number includes the battery and nozzle or proves full carry weight.
Explore this need in the finder →More output than the 525iB Mark II, still handheld
The Husqvarna 530iB is a handheld battery blower rather than a backpack model. Its exact US listing is SKU 970 65 61-03 and supplies a round nozzle and single harness, but no battery, charger, or vacuum kit. It is a bare tool that needs a compatible pack before it can run. The manufacturer frames it for intensive professional work and also lists it among current US battery blowers. That points to a capable machine, not a claim that every homeowner needs commercial-duty output.
The current operator manual gives a useful mode-by-mode description with the round standard nozzle: 537 CFM, 139 mph and 15 N in normal mode; 590 CFM, 152 mph and 18 N in Boost. Husqvarna’s page lists 587.99 CFM at the nozzle, which rounds to the manual’s 590 CFM Boost figure. These are published maximums, not measured cleanup speed. The distinction matters: the 530iB offers a little more usable headroom than the smaller 525iB, but the highest airflow is not necessarily the best setting for dry leaves beside mulch or dust-sensitive plantings.
Power needs, controls and the weight basis
The page lists the body at 5.95 lb, while the manual rounds its 2.7 kg weight to 6.0 lb without battery and nozzle. Neither value tells you what the complete machine weighs with a selected pack, nozzle and harness. The exact SKU does not include the battery, so the weight of your operating setup depends on the approved pack you choose. A harness eyelet and single harness help with carrying, but this remains a handheld blower; a backpack model moves the pack differently and may suit a long workday better.
Compatibility is narrower than a broad product-family label suggests. The operator manual names 40-B330X (9.0 Ah) and BLi300 (9.4 Ah) as approved batteries and QC500 (500 W) or 40-C750X (750 W) as approved chargers. Husqvarna product materials also use a 40 V class label, while the manual specifies 36 V nominal packs. Follow the exact approved models in the manual, not the label on a neighboring tool. The page’s accessory list includes some packs not shown in that manual table, so this review does not treat an accessory-card listing as a substitute for a documented approved-battery table.
A variable-speed trigger, cruise control and Boost provide a useful range between gentle sweeping and clearing heavier material. The 530iB also has Bluetooth connectivity for Husqvarna Fleet Services, which can help a multi-tool operator keep track of equipment; it adds little value if you only want to finish a small patio. Its manual documents a nominal 60 dB(A) sound level at 50 ft under ANSI B175.2 and gives separate sound-pressure data at the operator’s ear. The page’s operator-ear and sound-power figures use different measures. Do not compare these numbers as if they described the same listening position, and do not take “quiet” branding as a guarantee that the blower complies with local rules.
Trade airflow against a realistic battery plan
Choose the 530iB if you need strong handheld output, already own a manual-approved 9 Ah-class battery and charger, and value cruise control or fleet tracking. It is less convincing if your priority is a lightweight all-in-one purchase: the battery and charger are extra, and no runtime is guaranteed for a particular yard. Battery capacity and power setting affect how long a pack lasts, so the larger approved battery may be preferable for extended work but also adds carried mass. A buyer with a lighter-duty cleanup may find the smaller, lighter 525iB Mark II more sensible, while a longer professional route may justify considering a backpack design such as Husqvarna’s 550iBTX or 570iBT instead.
The 530iB is a dedicated blower. It does not vacuum or mulch leaves, and its package has no collection bag. If collection is a hard need, compare a true blower-vacuum such as the EGO LV5000 and check its separate vacuum-mode tradeoffs. For a current battery handheld whose product page confirms a kit rather than a bare tool, compare the EGO LB6504 package; the battery system and supplied equipment differ, so compare whole operating plans rather than headline CFM alone.
Husqvarna’s US listing identifies this model as currently available, but exact-model CPSC status has not been established. This is therefore a reference assessment, not a purchase recommendation, and makes no claim that the model is recalled or cleared. The operating manual calls for eye protection, safe separation from bystanders, battery removal before service, and keeping the machine away from rain or bad weather even though the product page describes an IPX4 rating. Treat the rating as limited splash protection, not permission to operate in rain.
