Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Will the Set’s two batteries make this low-force blower suitable for a much larger yard?
No. The two AS 2 batteries extend the rotation plan but do not raise the BGA 30’s 5 N and 253 CFM. If two batteries and much higher handheld output are essential, EGO LB8803-2 is a stronger, separate-system package; it is not STIHL-compatible.
Explore this need in the finder →If I need a supplied flat nozzle and at least 21 N, is the BGA 30 Set enough?
No. It includes a long flat nozzle, but its published 5-N force and 253-CFM airflow remain below those thresholds. The EGO LB6504 is a different-system handheld kit with a supplied flat nozzle and manufacturer-listed 650 CFM / 21 N.

The BGA 30 Set is blower-only; it has no vacuum or bag. The EGO LV5005 is a separate eligible handheld vacuum/mulcher kit with a 40-L bag, one 6-Ah battery and charger, on a different battery platform.

STIHL’s exact U.S. BGA 30 Set SKU is BA080115912US. The package page identifies two interchangeable AS 2 batteries and one AL 1 charger alongside the blower. STIHL lists the sibling BGA 30 Unit Only as BA080115902US; that carton contains neither battery nor charger. Both use the same small handheld blower, so choosing the Set changes the starting equipment and battery-rotation plan—not the blower’s airflow class.
STIHL positions the BGA 30 for small-to-medium paved areas and noise-sensitive places. That points toward a short sweep of a patio, garage floor, walkway, table, or light clippings near a workbench—not moving a deep, wet leaf pile across a lawn. The owner’s manual limits its intended work to leaves, grass, paper, and similar lightweight material. It is a blower, not a vacuum or mulcher: there is no leaf bag and nothing in this set collects debris for you.
Low-force cleanup with useful nozzle choices
The manual lists 253 cubic feet per minute, a maximum air speed of 96 mph, an average speed of 81 mph, and 5 newtons of blowing force. STIHL’s product page also lists 5 N with the round nozzle, while the 2025 U.S. full-line table agrees with the manual’s 253 CFM and 96-mph maximum. These are published specifications, not our measurements or a prediction of cleanup time. The force figure is explicitly tied to the round nozzle; do not assume that each nozzle produces the same tested maximum.
The two included nozzle lengths make more practical difference than a big power claim. STIHL describes a short round nozzle for shelves, tables, and small areas, and a longer flat nozzle for patios, garages, and other larger areas. The changeover is toolless. The manual also explains that the blower can be used without the tube for certain small-surface tasks. At the handle, a trigger varies blowing force steplessly; squeezing it farther increases force, and releasing it shuts the blower off. No separate Boost switch or speed dial is documented.
The gentler trigger suits close cleanup near loose items; the flat nozzle offers another outlet shape, not extra output. Neither feature turns 5 N into a high-force yard blower. If you routinely need to move heavier debris or clear a larger lot, compare a higher-output handheld such as the EGO LB6504; it is a different battery system and a different class of tool.
Two included batteries are a rotation plan
The Set’s two AS 2 packs are interchangeable spares, not evidence of a two-battery motor arrangement. The tool has one battery compartment, so one pack powers the blower at a time. STIHL’s AS-system chart gives the BGA 30 an estimated 16–50 minutes with the two AS 2 batteries included in this set, and labels the figure as a total for both. It warns that runtime varies with use and application. The range is not a promise of continuous high-output blowing; it also should not be divided into a guaranteed per-battery number.
The same chart estimates 60 minutes to 80 percent and 80 minutes to 100 percent for one AS 2 on an AL 1 charger. With one charger in the box, a user can keep one battery in reserve while charging the other, but charging and blowing do not happen in parallel on a single pack. The product page calls the AS system 11 V rated and 12 V maximum; the BGA 30.0 manual lists the AS battery as 10.8 V. The useful compatibility check is the exact STIHL AS family, not a voltage label that another brand happens to share.
Weight, indoor claims, and practical limits
Weight needs the basis attached. The U.S. product page describes the blower as under four pounds including a battery. The BGA 30.0 manual says 3.3 pounds without a battery, while STIHL’s 2025 catalog lists 3.4 pounds. That tenth-pound difference remains a manufacturer-source discrepancy; I use 3.4 pounds as the conservative bare-tool figure for a weight limit. It is not a measured assembled weight, and the Unit Only review cannot assume which battery its owner will fit.
STIHL calls the product quiet and labels it approved for indoor use, but the manual still calls for eye and ear protection, a clear 50-foot zone for people and pets, and avoidance of combustible vapors or dust. It warns that blower use can raise dust and debris. “Indoor use” is therefore not a promise that the machine is a vacuum, safe in every enclosed space, or appropriate around any material. The manual also says not to operate in rain or wet conditions, to remove the battery before transport, cleaning, or storage, and to keep the charger indoors in a dry room.
What changes in a shortlist
If two batteries and a charger in one box are essential, BA080115912US is the exact BGA 30 package to inspect; choosing “tool-only” instead would remove both packs and the charger. If a supplied flat nozzle matters, the Set includes it along with the short round option. But a 10-N minimum force or a 400-CFM minimum excludes this model on its documented 5-N and 253-CFM limits. If bagged collection is essential, compare the EGO LV5005 instead; it changes the job by adding vacuum/mulching parts and a bag, rather than making the BGA 30 collect leaves.
This exact STIHL configuration remains a technical reference here, not a purchase recommendation, because its model-specific CPSC status has not been established. That is not a recall finding, and it is not a statement about current stock. The exact status should be settled before this SKU is used in a buying shortlist.
